Styling notes

How to wear it
No. 01 — Proportion

The trouser is doing the talking

There is a particular arrogance to a wide trouser worn with something plain on top, and it works because it refuses to negotiate. Keep the shoe low, the shirt tucked shallow, and let the hem break once on the floor.

Words — Camille Ors
No. 02 — Contrast

A slip dress, in daylight

Evening clothes are more interesting at eleven in the morning. Blunt it with a heavy knit over the shoulders and a flat boot, and the whole thing reads as indifference rather than effort.

Words — Camille Ors
No. 03 — Repetition

Wearing the same coat all winter

The most stylish people you know own four things. A good coat worn every day becomes a signature by February — it stops being a purchase and starts being a description of you.

Overheard

Four reviews, unedited
“I have worn it four days running and been asked about it four times. I said nothing both about the price and the label.”
Ines M.Purchased — Éclipse Wool Coat
“The Oracle put it with a scarf I would never have chosen and now it is the only way I wear the dress.”
Farah D.Purchased — Nocturne Slip Dress
“It fits like someone measured me from across a room, correctly, without asking.”
Juno T.Purchased — Atelier Wide Trouser
“Three washes in and it still looks like the photograph. I have stopped buying knitwear elsewhere.”
Margot L.Purchased — Cendre Cashmere Knit
